STEPHEN B. SWEENEY, HENRICO CO., VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately three-gallon capacity, tapering ovoid form with squared rim, triple-incised shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt quadruple boll cotton plant design to each side. Stephen B. Sweeney (1799-1862), Bailey's Creek, Henrico Co., VA. 1838-1863. 13 1/4" H, 6 3/4" D rim.

Having some areas of professional restoration including most of rim, both handles reconstructed, and a curved crack that extends from rim to below one handle and up to shoulder.
