STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA POLYCHROME-DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE FLOWER POT, lead-, copper-, and manganese-glazed over a slip wash, urn form with pie-crimped rim, punched drain hole to side of base, and attached saucer with pie-crimped rim. Attributed to Samuel Leonard Bell (1811-1891) and/or his sons Richard Franklin, Turner Ashby, and Charles Forrest Bell, Strasburg, VA. Fourth quarter 19th century. 5 5/8" H, 5 1/2" D rim, 3 3/4" D base.
