UTAGAWA KUNISADA I (TOYOKUNI III) (JAPANESE, 1786-1864) WOODBLOCK PRINT TRIPTYCH, depicting actors Nakamura Tsuruzo I as Sagisaka Bannai (R), Kataoka Gado II as Hayano Kanpei (C), and Iwai Kumesaburo III as Koshimoto Okaru (L). Each lower right with artist's signature in the Toshidama cartouche, lower right or left with Yamamotoya Heikichi (Eikyudo) publisher's seal and a censor's seal of tiger 5 aratame. Housed under glass together in a black-painted frame. Circa 1854. 28 3/4" x 14" sight, 30" x 15 1/2" OA.

Condition

Fair to good visual condition with overall toning, discoloration along the lower edge on all three prints with some tears, area of discoloration to proper right print in upper portion, other spots of discoloration, frame with wear and surface scratches. Not examined out of frame.
