VALLEY OF VIRGINIA PAINTED STAVE-TYPE WOVEN-SPLINT BASKET, white oak, featuring x-wrapped rim, and arched handle. Retains an old black-painted surface. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 1/4" HOA, 6" H rim, 11" D rim.
Provenance: Discovered in Montgomery Co., Virginia.
Very good overall condition, possible loss to underside, and with areas of expected minor wear.
