VICTORIAN WOVEN HAIR MOURNING WREATH, various shades of hair intricately woven on a metal wire frame into floral arrangements, featuring a large oval wreath to center with bead and painted accents, framing a photograph of a woman identified as "Ella [...ear?] Perry" in ink along the bottom edge, four additional woven hair elements in the corners. Housed under glass in a probably original shadow box frame. Second half 19th century. 15 3/4" x 17 3/4" sight, 19 3/4" x 21 3/4" OA.
Very good visual condition with some dust, spots of unwoven and fraying hair, center partially detached to back, interior lining with some toning and tears, backboard with slight warping, frame with wear, some chips and flakes, and other imperfections. Not examined out of frame.
