VINTAGE BAKELITE, AND POSSIBLY OTHER PLASTIC, BELT OR DRESS BUCKLES, LOT OF 15, each two-part form having solid color Bakelite, or possibly other plastic, frame, including a butterscotch carved leaf-form buckle, a carved translucent brown buckle with applied black hook center, a translucent moss green leaf-form buckle with reticulated design, and an olive green leaf-form buckle presented on a green ribbon belt/sash. Eight buckles marked "PATENT NO. / 1965116" to clasps, medium brown buckle marked "PAT. PEND." to clasp. First half/mid 20th century. Translucent brown and black buckle 4 1/8" x 2" OA.

Condition

Most in very good to excellent overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including minor to moderate corrosion to metal components, nicks, minute/minor flakes possibly as made, and slight bending; translucent brown and black buckle with chipping around one loop attachment on back, all loop attachments possibly replaced; moss green reticulated buckle with one half having a crack/hairline to center of leaf motif near clasp having discoloration; trefoil-form yellow buckle with a short crack along terminal of clasp, probably as made.
