VIRGINIA MERCHANT'S STENCILED STONEWARE JUG, salt glazed, designated two-gallon capacity, beehive form, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "CHINA PALACE. / C.G. TAYLOR. / PETERSBURG. VA", additional slip-trailed cobalt "2" capacity flanked by ascending/descending parallel dashes, a cloud-like design above, and a wavy line below. Circa 1890. 13" HOA.

Having loss of handle and a small hole to side.
