Catalogue Note: The National Museum of Racing owns a full-size portrait of Battleship painted by Broadhead in 1955. The present drawing likely dates to that same period. Battleship was sired by Man-of-War, and was winner of the American Grand National in 1934 and the UK Grand National in 1938.
