WASHINGTON, DC RETAILED, PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA COIN SILVER COFFEE POT, baluster form with a Greek key rim, topped by a hinged lid with flower finial, having a scrolled handle with bone insulators and a scrolled spout, raised on four scrolled feet with foliate knees, side of well with engraved "WMN" initials. Base impressed with a maker's mark for Taylor & Lawrie of Philadelphia, PA (active 1837-1862) and a retailer's mark for M.W. Galt & Bro. of Washington, DC (active 1847-1871). Total weight including non-silver components: 32.56 ozt. Mid 19th century. 10 1/2" HOA.
Mostly in very good visual condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, one side with two sizable dents to neck and at base, a few other dents mostly small in size, two repairs to top of spout terminal at side and to top of one foot.
