Gideon publisher, The Battery, complete run from Vol. 1, No. 1 (July 6, 1848) through Vol. 1, No. 18 (November 2, 1848), plus an "Extra" edition (November 16, 1848), and Vol. 1, No. 20 (January 25, 1849) reporting the election popular vote totals by county within each state, etc. Original marbled boards, lacking spine. 11 1/2" x 9".
Catalogue Note: The Battery was self-described as "A campaign paper, published in the city of Washington....devoted to the support of Taylor and Fillmore. 

Condition

The interior has toning to text and some scattered foxing, the first 14 pages are loose, the first pages have edge roughness, the remainder are primarily tight, the boards are loose, and the spine is missing and replaced with tape.
