WAX OVER PAPIER MACHE / COMPOSITION AND WOODEN CHILD DOLL, unmarked, shoulder plate, fixed glass black eyes lacking pupils, hand-painted facial decoration including eyebrows and a pink closed mouth, stuffed cloth torso and upper legs, paint-decorated wooden arms and lower legs, jointed at shoulders and hips, blue-painted boots, molded blonde hair with corkscrew curls and a molded flat-top hat painted grey. Period clothing including a chintz brown and green print cotton dress with brown lace trim, period undergarments. Third quarter 19th century. 20 3/4" H.

Good overall condition with wear, face with expected crazing/cracks, restoration to neck and shoulder plate, wooden finger tips with some losses. Clothing in good condition with some scattered imperfections, lace is deteriorating.
