WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each of cylindrical form with slight shoulder, flat-top rounded rim, Albany-slip glazed interior, comprising an approximately two-gallon capacity example and an approximately one-gallon capacity example. Each with stenciled cobalt designs including larger example featuring two bands with zipper-like designs and remaining having "Superior." banner to front. A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV. "Superior" example in excellent, undamaged condition; two-gallon example having moderate chip to rim, mostly interior, and red paint, primarily to interior and some minute remnants to exterior.
