WESTERN MARYLAND INLAID WALNUT FALL-FRONT DESK, the hinged slant lid concealing fitted interior with figured prospect door, banks of drawers, and cubbies, case with four graduated scratch-beaded full drawers, flanked by solid ends, the whole raised on turned feet, one interior drawer with old pencil inscription "Harry S. Herman / Hagerstown, MD / June 10, 1873", simple line inlay to drawers and lid. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retains an old refinished surface. Circa 1820. 45" H, 40 1/2" W, 21" D.

Very good overall condition with areas of expected minor wear. Small repair to case near upper case drawer. Brasses replaced. Two pieced knot repairs to interior of lid.
