WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE CANNER, salt-glazed, approximately one-quart capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, grooved wax-seal rim, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "Jas. Hamilton / & Co. / Greensboro / Pa.", additional stenciled ornament below name. James Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA. Circa 1870. 6 1/4" H, 3 5/8" D rim.

Condition

Excellent, mostly undamaged condition, except having a minor shallow chip to underside base edge, retaining residue to grooved wax-seal rim.
