WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE CANNERS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each approximately one-and-a-half-quart capacity, cylindrical form with grooved wax-seal rim, Albany-slip glazed interior. Each having stenciled cobalt scrolled ornament decoration, one having additional brushed cobalt stripe below rim and above base. Circa 1870. 8 1/4" H, 4 1/2" D rim and 7 7/8" H, 4 5/8" D rim.

Condition

One having shallow chip to rim exterior and some minor scattered chips/flakes to rim interior; remaining stencil and stripes example having a radial hairline to lower back, a hairline extending up side from base on side of stencil, and a plaster repair to base.
