WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR,
salt-glazed,
designated three-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, beaded neck ring, applied arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "HAMILTON AND / JONES. / GREENSBORO. / PA.", additional decorative ornaments, brushed cobalt "3", wavy lines, and stripe designs, and additional cobalt to handle terminals.
Second half 19th century.
13 7/8" H, 8 1/8" D rim.

Condition
Mostly undamaged, having a minor radial hairline to back, with some expected usage wear and scattered crazing.
