WHITING MFG. CO. STERLING SILVER LARGE COMPOTE, having a rounded well with a Neoclassical-style die-rolled border along outer rim, raised on a pedestal-type base. Base impressed with maker's mark above "STERLING / 544". Total weight: 32.63 ozt. Whiting Mfg. Co., North Attleboro, MA, New York City, NY, and Bridgeport, CT. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 8" HOA, 9 3/8" D rim.
Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, heavy scratches to interior base, some nicks and a few minute/small dents.
