ALASKAN NATIVE CAPPED FOSSILIZED WALRUS OOSIK, both ends capped with baleen and bone, later varnished surface. Total weight: 457 grams. Together with a copy of the poem, Ode to an Oosik, by Dwight Milligrock of Diomede Island, AK, and a stand made from two cut-down antlers mounted to a square-form wood base. Three pieces total. Oosik altered in 20th century. 18" LOA.

Condition

Very good overall condition with minor wear, areas of varnish with tacky residue; copy of poem with wrinkling and light toning.
