AMAZA LEE MEREDITH (VIRGINIA, 1895 – 1984), AFRICAN AMERICAN, NAUTICAL DRAWING, watercolor on paper, depicting sailing vessels in a harbor setting, signed and date lower right "Amaza Lee Meredith / 1930". Housed under glass in a modern frame. 1930. 16" x 19 1/2" sight, 23" x 27" OA.
Catalogue Note: Amaza Lee Meredith, a noted female black architect, was an art teacher at Virginia State University. Her and her partner Dr. Edna Meade Colson, resided at Azurest South, which was designed by Amaza.
