AMERICAN AND ENGLISH STERLING SILVER MINAUDIERES AND COMPACTS, LOT OF FOUR, comprising two Art Deco minaudieres consisting of one rectangular form by Watrous Mfg. Co. of Wallingford, CT with engine-turned engraving and "GHK" initials to exterior, interior lining and mirror to one half, and a chain strap, and an ovoid decagonal form by Webster Co. of North Attleboro, MA featuring linear engraving and "MAK" initials to exterior, divided interior with lidded compartments including a mirror, cord strap, and tassel decoration, an English Art Deco compact by W.I. Broadway & Co. of Birmingham with probably 1913 or possibly 1938 date mark with engraving to exterior having center probably engraved over original initials, and a small compact, or possibly pill box, by The Thomae Co. of Attleboro, MA having relief rosette to top. Each American piece with "STERLING" and maker's marks, English compact with "B & Co" maker's mark and three hallmarks of an anchor city mark, a lion passant for sterling fineness, and an "O" date mark. Total weight including non-sterling components: 7.100 ozt. First half/mid 20th century. Compacts 1 1/4" and 2 3/4" D.


Mostly in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, one to several dents, and/or worn spots to decoration; Watrous minaudiere with wear and tear to interior lining.
