AMERICAN AND OTHER STERLING, 0.800 SILVER, AND SILVER-PLATED SOUVENIR SPOONS AND SPOON RACK, LOT OF 16, comprising nine marked sterling souvenir spoons including three by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI consisting of a "Luxembourg" patterned teaspoon with engraving of "NILES" to bowl and "E.E.B. '98." to handle, a "Twas The Night Before Christmas" demitasse spoon, and a patriotic teaspoon with an enameled Cuban and American flag, also featuring a Marquette, MI spoon with enameled fish to handle, and a New York City spoon marked "GERMANY" featuring enameling to handle and bowl; a Dutch 0.800 silver spoon with enameled bowl featuring ships and "AMSTERDAM" on a handle having a clog / klomp figural tip; five silver-plated souvenir spoons including an 1893 World's Fair demitasse spoon with embossed Transportation Building image to bowl; and a silver-plated spoon rack by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. of Wallingford, CT with a figural finial and 12 spoon holders. Most pieces marked, sterling and 0.800 silver spoons with fineness marks. Total weight of nine sterling and one 0.800 silver spoon including enamel: 5.150 ozt. Late 19th/first half 20th century. Spoon rack 9 1/8" HOA.
Spoons in good to excellent overall condition with minor to moderate wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including slight bending, nicks, one or a few minute/minor dents, possibly one or a few flakes to enameling, and/or worn spots to raised decoration/silver; spoon rack in very good visual condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, a few holders with repairs, some others possibly repaired, stem with slight bending causing the rack to be unleveled.
