AMERICAN / BRITISH NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk on linen, eight alphabet rows segmented by horizontal bands of stitching, lower third signed "RACHEL OLIVER HE / R WORK DONE IN TH / E TENTH YEAR OF / HER AGE SEPTEMBEr / 17 0 1800" followed by numerals. Housed under two panels of acrylic and glass in a modern frame. Dated 1800. 7 3/4" x 10" object, 11 3/4" x 14 1/4" OA.
Condition
Fair to good overall condition with linen having scattered holes, some thread with fading/fugitive color, frame with minor wear.
