AMERICAN COIN SILVER SNUFF BOX WITH ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA PRESENTATION ENGRAVING, rectangular form with hinged lid and engraved decoration to exterior, top of lid featuring presentation engraving that reads, "Presented / TO / Robt. M. Hart. / by his Friends / Alexandria / 1862", within a decorative frame. Interior flange impressed with a "G" mark, possibly for Gorham & Co. of Providence, RI (active 1852-1865). Total weight: 2.645 ozt. Circa 1862. 3 1/2" x 2 1/8" x 3/4" OA.

Condition

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, some scattered denting including to proper lower right corner having a corresponding small puncture.
