AMERICAN PAINTED WOOD TWO-STORY DOLLHOUSE, grey and white painted finish, two floors with high ceilings, each floor featuring two rooms connected by a tall wood door with ceramic knobs, front edges with probably later installed row of lights, each room having a glass window, painted walls with applied paper borders, and a carpet insert, one lower room with built-in fireplace, solid mansard roof with faux windows and applied dentil trim, lacking front panel of house. Together with an uncounted group of doll furniture, furnishings, and doll / miniature objects and decorations. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. House 54" HOA, 49 1/2" WOA, 24 3/4" DOA.

Condition

Dollhouse in good to very good overall condition with some wear, scattered paint flakes and chips, cracks along seams of back panels and other age cracks, possible repair/s, and other imperfections; doll furniture and accessories mostly in fair to very good overall condition with usage wear and other imperfections including surface scratches, tears, breaks, cracks, losses, repairs, etc. Lights untested and in unknown working condition (see Catalogue Guarantee).

Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
