AMERICAN "PANSY" APPLIQUE QUILTS, PAIR,
hand- and machine-stitched, possibly being kit quilts, each having 35 pattern blocks in solid and print fabrics with outline and fan quilting, pink grid sashing with overlapping oval quilting, applied pink binding, whole cloth backing.
Mid 20th century.
One 71" x 94 1/2"; other 69 1/2" x 95".
Provenance: Property from a Youngstown, OH estate.
Good to very good overall condition, each with a few scattered stains and spotting; one with light fading to top, binding having wear, significant tears along top edge; other having three mends at lower corner with one going through to backing, binding along top edge with some wear and short tears.
