AMERICAN, POSSIBLY PENNSYLVANIA, JACQUARD COVERLET, brown, green, orange, and lilac purple wool, and tan and natural cotton, whole panel, center having a star medallion surrounded by flowers, encompassed by rectangular frames including foliate motifs and scalloped design, four sides each with border featuring a capitol-type building flanked by quail or turkey birds and grapevines, each corner with a reclining pair of a stag and deer, three edges with fringe. Third quarter 19th century. 81" x 82" with fringe.
Very good overall condition with some light toning, scattered stains, and spots of light fading, some losses to wool mostly being small in size, fringe with several scattered losses.
