LEWISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA SIGNED AND DATED JACQUARD COVERLET, rose red, dark blue, and teal green wool, and light blue and natural cotton, whole panel, center with repeated rose and flower motifs, three sides with scrolling vine inner border and narrow star outer border, three edges with fringe. Each bottom corner block signed "BENJN / ANGSTAD / LEWIS / BURG. / PENN-" and dated "1840" below. Benjamin Angstad, Lewisburg, Union Co., PA. Dated 1840. 83" x 91" with fringe.
Condition
Very good overall condition with overall toning, a few stains and spotting, some scattered small losses to wool, fringe with losses.
