AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART BLACK AMERICANA GENRE SCENE, oil on canvas, a view of the wharf with laborers resting on bales of cotton, enjoying watermelon, ship masts in the background, no signature located. Housed in period, possibly original, gilt frame with molded-composition ornamentation. Fourth quarter 19th century. 18" x 27 1/2" sight, 26 1/2" x 36" OA.
Very good overall condition with minor scattered abrasions and areas of discoloration. Frame with small losses.
