AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL, oil on canvas, waist-length depiction of sitter with ringlets and wearing a locket, no signature located. Housed in a period frame. Believed to be a Waterford, Virginia sitter. 19th century. 26 3/4" x 21 3/4" sight, 30 3/4" x 25 1/2" OA.
Very good overall visual condition, repairs to background and body with associated inpainting. Frame with very minor losses.
