a fine example, after William Sidney Mount (1807-1868), depicting an African-American laborer listening just outside a barn door to a man playing the fiddle inside to a small audience, no signature located, retaining a period printed Philadelphia artist supply merchant label applied to stretcher verso. Housed in a modern gilt frame.
