AMERICAN SEWER TILE FIGURAL DOG DOORSTOP, gritty textured chocolate brown glaze over red clay, right-facing Staffordshire-style dog with folky carved/incised details to eyes, nose, eyelashes, and mouth, and circular pressed embellishments to collar, open-bottomed. Unsigned, probably Ohio origin. Early to mid 20th century. 9 1/4" H.

Condition
Excellent, essentially undamaged condition with some as made firing lines/fissures throughout the body.
Recently surfaced in an old Missouri collection.
