AMERICAN "STAR" PATTERN PIECED QUILTS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a "Lone Star / Star of Bethlehem" quilt, hand- and machine-stitched, center eight-point star constructed by diamond-shaped blocks constructed from 800 pieces of polychrome solid fabrics having outline quilting, featuring white ground fabric with grid quilting, border along all four sides with chain quilting, applied binding with scalloped edge, three paneled plain backing; and a "Star Bouquet" variation quilt, hand-stitched, having repeated six-point stars with hexagonal centers, outline and intersecting straight-line quilting, applied blue binding, two paneled plain backing. 20th century. "Lone Star" 71 1/2" x 71 1/2"; and "Star Bouquet" 64 1/2" x 80 1/2".

"Lone Star" in very good overall condition, top with some scattered stains, a few areas of color bleeding, spots of light to moderate fading, one yellow diamond with a small hole, backing with some light bleeding of colors from top, a few stains and spotting; and "Star Bouquet" in good to very good overall condition, top with scattered stains and spotting, some light fading, toning along center fold lines, binding with a tear and loss along one end edge, backing with areas of ghosting/bleeding in which some goes through the top, some spotting and stains.
