AMERICAN "TREE" APPLIQUE CRIB / DOLL QUILT, hand- and machine-stitched, red and brown print and plain white fabrics, featuring applique design of a tree, possibly a cherry tree, with free-hand machine quilting, applied binding, unknown backing. Mounted to fabric on a wooden stretcher for hanging. Second half 19th century. Quilt 21 1/2" x 25".
Condition
Very good overall condition, top with overall light toning and spotting, one leaf with a spot of breakage to applique thread, binding with worn spots to three corners having tears, backing in unknown condition.
