AMERICAN "WEDDING RING / CROWN OF THORNS" PIECED QUILT,
hand- and machine-stitched, 16 pattern on-point blocks in yellow and white plain fabrics, alternating with plain white blocks, straight-line, grid, and plume quilting, applied yellow fabric binding, three-paneled plain backing.
Fourth quarter 19th century.
77" x 78".
Provenance: From the collection of Bob and Dixie Moore, Deer Park, MD.
Very good visual condition, top with some light toning, area of light fading to yellow fabric, a few scattered spots/stains, some sections of separating at seams on blocks, binding with some wear and tears, backing having some very light toning, area of light staining/discoloration possibly from storage.
