AMES U.S. MODEL 1840 NCO / NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER'S SWORD WITH SCABBARD, ricasso, partially legible "AMES MFG / CHICOPEE / MASS", no other markings located. Circa 1865. 35 1/2" LOA with scabbard.

Descended in the Byrd family.
Very good overall condition, blade with minor wear. Scabbard with moderate to heavy wear to the leather.
