ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE MALE AND FEMALE TAILOR'S / DRESS FORMS, LOT OF TWO, each made of a cloth-covered body on a cast-iron frame with casters, comprising a Palmenberg Cavanaugh model 1958 man's form by Cavanaugh Form Company, Inc. of New York City, NY being size 36 with original label below neck, and an Acme-Form lady's adjustable dress form by L&M (Ellanam) Adjustable Dress Form Co. of Brooklyn, NY with partial original label and a dress cage to base having a patent date of "DEC [?] 1908", unknown size. First half/mid 20th century. Currently 61" and 63" HOA.

Condition

Cavanaugh form in very good overall condition with some toning, scattered stains, and a few holes to fabric, metal components with light rusting; L&M dress form in poor to fair overall condition with fabric having losses, holes, discoloration, and fading, both back panels are broken off at the neck, some rusting to metal components.

Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
