ANTIQUE ENGLISH LEFAUCHEUX-TYPE PINFIRE REVOLVER WITH VIRGINIA CIVIL WAR HISTORY, 7mm, octagon barrel marked "J. MANTON LONDON" to top and "SH" to right side, folding trigger, checkered grips. Birmingham proof marks to barrel, cylinder, and frame. Circa 1860. 3 3/8" barrel, 7 1/2" LOA. Class: Antique.
Catalogue Note: According to an attached note, this revolver was from the estate of Confederate Col. Simeon Beuford (S.B.) Gibbons (1833-1862), commander of the 10th Virginia Infantry. Gibbons was killed at the Battle of McDowell.
