ASSORTED BLACK FOREST-STYLE CARVED WATCH HUTCHES / STANDS, LOT OF FOUR, mixed variety of woods, comprising a clamshell-shaped example with carved relief-decorated folding panel of the Lion of Lucerne, a standing example shaped like a tall case clock with applied bird and holly sprigs, an example with an antelope standing atop a rock also reading "PONTARLIER" (a town in modern-day France) and "IMPORTE DE SUISSE", and a rectangular box example with four ball feet and having applied acorns and foliage carving on the top plus naturalistic carvings to surface. Each hutch paired with a watch including an unidentified octagonal Elgin example, an 11-jewel Elgin in a Dueber gold-filled case engraved "Presented by Martha E. Locker to E.A. James", a small round watch marked "NEW ENGLAND" to the dial, and an H. Samuel, Fleurier watch in a Swiss 0.935 silver case. Various makers. 19th and 20th centuries. 7" HOA.
Good condition overall, most with expected wear and some losses or slight nicking/chipping to edges, tallest example with some age-related shrinkage cracks and glued repairs to fabrics.
