ASSORTED CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF NINE, including three polychrome delft tin-glazed examples including a covered jar with molded ring loop handles, featuring scrolled ivy decoration with "MALVAE" to front, an octagonal-form inkwell and pen holder with bright floral motif, and a covered footed sugar with hand-brushed "Rouen" to underside, a Gaudy-decorated globular-form teapot and stand featuring oyster/peach-like decorations with copper lustre accents, an Austrian children's mug with checkerboard pattern, and a Haynes Bennett & Co., Chesapeake Pottery memorial jug featuring Shakespeare portrait to one side and his birthplace on reverse having molded lion's head handle. Haynes Bennett & Co., Chesapeake Pottery, Baltimore, MD; Rouen, France; and others. 19th to 20th century. Jar 10 1/2" HOA.

Condition

Mug, smear-glazed cylindrical stoneware jar, and teapot stand undamaged; covered floral jar with hairline to base and some discoloration to cover; teapot with painted over flake to spout; Shakespeare jug with minor hairline to spout and slightly yellowing restoration to rim chip; delft inkwell and jar each having some chips and characteristic scattered glaze flakes; delft sugar having loss of cover finial.
