SWISS SIGNED "A. PEILLEX" FRAMED MAJOLICA EARTHENWARE PLAQUE,
featuring charming relief image of two bluebirds overlooking their egg-filled nest nestled on a leafy, flowered branch, artist signed to lower front, marks to back include blue hand-brushed "LES OEUFS." (The Eggs) and "XVIII", with penciled "d'apres / Giaconmelli" (according to) and "poterie de Nyon (Suisse)" (Nyon Pottery Swiss), housed within a large wooden frame having ornately carved vine decoration. Additional marks to back include impressed "P. F. & Cie" with fish below.
