ASSORTED GERMAN CHINA HEAD DIMINUTIVE DOLLS, LOT OF FIVE, each having impressed marks to reverse of shoulder plate including three marked for Germany, one example impressed "9" and another with "7", shoulder heads, hand-painted facial features, stuffed cloth bodies with china arms and lower legs, smallest example with torso reverse stamped "354-38", each with brown- or black-painted shoes, black-painted molded hair in a part and curly. Each with vintage clothing and undergarments. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 5" to 9 1/2" H.

Condition

Very good overall condition with expected wear, pink dress example with as-made annealing cracks to the neck, smallest example lacking feet. Clothing in overall very good condition with scattered imperfections.

Deaccessioned by the Wachovia Historical Society to benefit acquisitions and conservation funds.
