ASSORTED GERMAN CHINA HEAD DOLLS, LOT OF FIVE, each having impressed marks to reverse of shoulder plate including one marked for Germany, an example with "210" and another with "9", shoulder heads, hand-painted facial features, two examples with open mouths, stuffed bodies with china arms and lower legs, each with brown- or black-painted shoes, two examples with black-painted and two examples with blonde-painted molded hair in a part and curly, remaining example blonde hair and molded bonnet. Each with vintage clothing and undergarments. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 7" to 11" H.
Very good overall condition with expected wear, one of smaller examples lacking a shoe heel. Clothing in overall good condition with scattered imperfections and repairs.
Deaccessioned by the Wachovia Historical Society to benefit acquisitions and conservation funds.
