AUSTRIAN JOHANN MARESCH BLACK AMERICANA TERRACOTTA FIGURE,
featuring a boy sitting on stump with hollow tree trunk to back having a rectangular base with two relief fish to front, lacking a glass bowl and fishing pole that figure would have held, having polychrome hand-painted enamels, signed "Aug.Otto." to back. Impressed "JM", "AUSTRIA", and "9591" to underside.
Johann Maresch, Bohemia, Austria.
Late 19th/early 20th century.
15 1/4" HOA.
Excellent visual condition with some minor professional restoration including hat brim and paint touch-ups, and a minor flake to tree trunk.
