BACCARAT HAND-PAINTED ART GLASS JARDINIERE WITH DORE BRONZE MOUNTS, large urn-form decorated opal bowl with finely executed polychrome-enamel decoration depicting a romantic landscape scene featuring cherubs, sheep, and an amorous couple, artist signed "J. Donzel", Dore bronze rim and square base signed with Baccarat trademark to the underside. France. Fourth quarter 19th century. 15" H, 14 1/8" D.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation and future acquisitions.
Very good visual condition; bowl has been separated from base above foot, cracks visible to interior base, not readily visible from exterior; having a few splits/cracks to the bronze mount and base.
