BALTIMORE, MARYLAND / RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF THREE, salt-glazed, each approximately half-gallon capacity and of cylindrical form with squared rim. Each having brushed cobalt dropped feather decoration repeated three times from neck. One or more possibly David Parr Jr. (1819-1882) or John L. Parr operating the Richmond Pottery Co. (after 1866-1890). Circa 1875. 8 1/2" HOA, 5 1/2" DOA rim.
Two mostly undamaged except one having two flakes to rim exterior and one having a rim hairline; remaining with a rim chip having an associated crack with applied clear glue to seal. Manufacturing flaws including one having two glazed over chips to rim probably made during stacking, as made.
From a Virginia private collection.
