BENJAMIN DUVAL ATTRIBUTED, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately four gallon capacity, ovoid form with squared tooled rim, multiple incised shoulder rings, and applied vertical grooved handles with thumb-pressed lower terminal. Brushed cobalt arch and dot motif, additional cobalt to handle terminals. Attributed to Benjamin DuVal Pottery, Richmond, VA. 1811-1820. 15 1/2" H, 8" D rim.

Condition

Very good condition, having some minor scattered chips to foot, some possibly as made, and a 3/4" loss to rim.
