BERTEL GARDERG (FINNISH, 1916-2007) DESIGNED "BIRGITTA" MID-CENTURY MODERN 0.916 SILVER FLATWARE SET, pattern designed in 1955, each piece featuring a plain tapered handle with squared tip, comprising six place forks, eight luncheon forks, eight soup/dessert spoons, six teaspoons, 12 demitasse spoons, and 14 knives with hollow handles and stainless/steel blades of six dinner knives and eight luncheon knives. Each with Finnish hallmarks including a crown mark, a city mark, and a date mark as well as a "BG" designer mark and a "916H" silver fineness mark, most with maker's marks for Hopeatehdas Oy of Helsinki, Finland, six demitasse spoons with maker's mark for Kultateollisuus Ky of Turku, Finland. Total weight excluding 14 knives: 42.525 ozt. Mid 20th century. 4 5/8" to 8" LOA. 

Very good overall condition with minor wear, minor to moderate surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks and very slight bending; some pieces with spots of residue.
