BRASS / METAL FIGURAL SEWING BIRD CLAMPS, LOT OF TWO, one example with later gold paint, each with a velvet-covered pincushion to the top of bird, top of each c-form clamp having an additional pincushion with matching velvet covering, each embossed on edge of wing "PATENTED" and "FEB 15 1853", having floral decoration to clamp. Third quarter 19th century. 4 1/2" HOA.

Very good overall condition, expected wear, primarily to the pincushion tops, gold example with reattached lower pincushion.
