CARTERS INK BOTTLES / ARTICLES, LOT OF 14, various colors and shapes each embossed and/or paper labeled for Carter's Inks, including a paper labeled Black Letter Ink cone with label reading "CARTER DINSMORE & CO. / BOSTON & NEW YORK", a dark olive green base-embossed cone with nearly illegible embossing, a tiny eight sided Indelible Ink embossed and paper labeled with a sphinx head pictorial, and a later Indelible Ink in box with accoutrements, seven bottles with tooled mouths, the remainder machine made. 19th and 20th centuries. 4 5/8" HOA.
Very good condition overall; mostly undamaged, a couple with perhaps moderate wear and many with residue, some paper labels with discoloration or minor losses; irregular-shaped colorless teakettle ink with a large mouth bruise and base crack, eight-sided Indelible Ink with a large base flake, shield-embossed square bottle with a tiny crack to base edge.
