CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE WALKER FAMILY, COWETA CO., GEORGIA COLLECTION OF LETTERS AND RELATED ARCHIVAL MATERIAL, comprising approximately 26 letters. Most being two to four pages, dated between 1861 and 1864, all but one from James B. Walker (1845-1915), initially in Co. A, 7th Georgia Infantry, later 1st Sgt. Co. K, 1st Georgia Calvary, written home to his parents and siblings from a variety of camps in Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia. Including July 2nd, 1862, "Fighting below Richmond" with details of dead and wounded during the Seven Days Battles; November 4th, 1863, reporting the Battle of Philadelphia, TN; August 5th, 1861, Manassas Junction, VA; March 26, 1864, Camp near Cartersville, GA; September 29th, 1863, camp near Charleston; &c. Together with a group post-war material from the Raleigh S. Bowden family, brother-in-law of James Walker including his Southern Cross inscribed "R. S. Bowden / Co. B, 32nd Ga. Reg".
